No On-Camera Romances for Tia Mowry and Hubby Cory Hardrict

By Marilyn Beck and Stacy Jenel Smith hollywoodnews.com: Don’t expect to see Tia Mowry and her real-life mate, handsome actor Cory Hardrict, in a romantic movie together. Ever. The “The Game” star recoils at the very thought. “I wouldn’t want to have an on-camera relationship with my husband — kissing and stuff. It’s too private. It’s just kind of too weird,” she says, laughing. “We have worked together in the past. We met on ‘Hollywood Horror,’ and he guest-starred on ‘The Game.’ We could work behind the scenes, for sure, or on-camera as long as the characters’ relationship is anything but romantic. That would be awesome.” Tia was, however, “able to take a little bit from my wedding and what I was feeling and experiencing and apply it” — in the making of her and sister Tamera’s new Lifetime movie, “Double Wedding,” debuting Sunday (6/20). Tia and Tamera cooked up the romantic comedy that has them vying for the same guy (British hottie O.T. Fagbenle) — and produced it themselves. Notes Tia, “We’ve been in this business a very long time, and we realized we needed to start our own production company, like Ashton Kutcher, Drew Barrymore and Reese Witherspoon. Being a woman in this business, sometimes the roles become limited as you go along, so we wanted to create our own opportunities.” Tamera – who’s not married, but in a relationship, by the way — says that it was their mother who advised them to go out to lunch and not return until they had created a list of good ideas. “We both wanted to do a romantic comedy,” she says. “There aren’t a lot of vehicles out there for African American women to portray such characters,” adds Tia. “We came up with this idea and pitched it to Lifetime and they loved it.” Tamera feels, “I’ve found a new niche behind the camera. I’m a very creative person, and to be able to take an idea and bring it full circle into a completed movie – it’s an amazing, amazing event for me. It’s the happiest I’ve ever been in my life.” The twins now have several other projects in the works, including a pilot they just produced for the Style network.
